One of the UK's more unusual towed leisure vehicles is appearing at the NEC this week as part of the Motorhome and Caravan Show.

From 14th – 19th October, Derbyshire based Tripbuddy will be showcasing their latest luxury caravan aimed at those wanting an alternative camping experience.

Each year the annual NEC exhibition attracts more than 100,000 people and generate millions of pounds worth of business for the towed leisure and camping industry.

After an initial 3 days at the event, the UK manufacturer reported a substantial number of visitors to their stand and attribute the popularity to their recent appearance on Channel 4’s programme, Gadget Man which dubbed the caravan ‘The ultimate staycation gadget’.

Bill Davis, Managing Director of Tripbuddy, said: "The opening day was a special preview for members of The Caravan Club and our stand was so busy that at one point there was a 20 minute queue just to step inside."

The caravan market has long been associated with the traditional 'white box' caravan and an older tourer, but Bill is hoping to attract a younger audience to get involved in the emerging 'glamping' market.

The showcased ‘Escape’ model is especially designed to take you from the city to the countryside with ease. It’s unique style, colour and shape open up the world of camping to a whole new audience.

Bill Davis continues: “With the ever changing trend of holiday makers staying here in the UK, camping is a real investment and makes a really flexible holiday.”

Tripbuddy can be found on stand 18-23  (Hall 18) of the Motorhome and Caravan Show (16th – 19th October) and special offers for the show include free air-conditioning giving customers a saving of £1200.
